Stick Chaos privacy policy
Last updated:
Stick Chaos: Stickman War is an action game for iPhone and Android. There is no sign-in and the game never asks for your real name, email address or phone number. This policy explains what the game stores, what it sends to our servers and why.
Who we are
IOVA LTD makes and publishes the game and is the controller of the data described here. For privacy questions or requests, email info@iova.co.uk.
What stays on your device
Your progress (money, unlocked heroes and weapons, upgrades, records, missions) and your settings are saved on the device. Daily reward reminders are local notifications scheduled on the device; the game asks for permission first and you can turn them off in your phone's settings.
What the game sends to our servers
The game uses a cloud database run by a hosting provider on our behalf. It only receives the following, linked to random codes made by the game, never to your identity:
- Cloud save: a copy of your saved progress under a random 12-character account code, so progress comes back after reinstalling the game or on a new phone when you enter the code.
- Nickname: the nickname you type in the game (or one it makes up), shown to other players on boards, in clans and in online matches. Please do not use your real name.
- Friends and boards: a random friend code, your nickname and your best wave of the day or week, so you and the friends whose codes you add can compare scores.
- Clans: the clan you make or join, your nickname, commander rank, role in the clan, when you last opened the clan screen and the clan war points your runs earn. Other members of your clan see this.
- Online play: while you play online, your nickname, chosen hero and the moves of the match are exchanged with the other players in the room, through our server and directly between the devices. Match contents are not stored afterwards.
- Anonymous play statistics: a random install ID and events such as the game opening and a run starting or ending (mode, wave, time, app version), so we can see where the game is too hard or too easy. They contain nothing that identifies you.
We use this data only to run these features and improve the game. We do not sell it and do not use it for advertising.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game includes Google AdMob for optional rewarded ads and occasional ads between runs. When ads are on, AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier, approximate location from the IP address and how you interact with ads, under Google's privacy policy. In the UK and EU the game asks for your consent first, and you can change your choice in the game's settings. On iPhone, personalised ads are only shown if you allow tracking. Buying "No Ads" removes these ads.
Purchases
In-game purchases go through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handle the payment under their own privacy policies; we do not receive your name, email address or payment details.
How long we keep it and how to delete it
Cloud saves, friend and clan data are kept while the game uses them. Leaving a clan removes you from it; a leader can close the clan, which deletes it. To have your cloud save and all other data linked to your codes deleted, email info@iova.co.uk with your account code (Settings → Account) and we will delete it within 30 days. Anonymous statistics cannot be linked back to you.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email info@iova.co.uk and we will delete it.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, and object to its use. Email info@iova.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page.
